EMILY’S STORY
Dr Emily May Armstrong entwines award-winning creative communication with stories of inclusive science and imaginative plant-futures. Emily weaves disparate threads into cohesive narratives, empowering audiences to reconsider and embrace their place in this messy and beautiful world through genetics, identity, plants, and art.

Emily holds a PhD (2021) and MSc(Res) (2018) in Plant Molecular Epigenetics from the University of Glasgow, and a first class BSc(Hons) (2015) in Genetics from the University of Essex.
Emily works with The Wellcome Collection, The Wildlife Trusts, Leading Russell Group Universities, The Glasgow Centre for Contemporary Arts, UKRI Funding Bodies, and more.
Emily takes an immersive and interdisciplinary approach to creative scientific storytelling: blending traditional lectures with videography, group discussion, and hands-on activities - weaving together scientific, artistic, and philosophical stories.
